Peggy!) . . . and I was inspired by Jude Hill at
Spirit Cloth to embroider a feather to send. I used some batiked fine-wale corduroy (scraps from a hat I made), though of the feathers I've seen that others have made, mine's my least favorite. It illustrates a common trait of mine: trying to be different (or
contrary, as my parents used to say) to see what happens.
Hi Chris -- I love your feathers together here with their magical eyes and feather auras on that beautiful cloth. Contrary worked out just fine...!
ReplyDeleteWhy, thank you, Peggy. I drew the pattern from a sketch I'd made in a journal rather from an actual feather, which I later regretted. But I love this idea, and it's piecemeal work I'm drawn to these days, so I've made yet another feather and will likely feel compelled to sew a third to accompany those. It'll be interesting to see what Jude does with them all. . .
